Last Sunday, March 7, The Buzz aired in its usual live telecast with its hosting triumvirate Boy Abunda, Ruffa Gutierrez and Kris Aquino. Kris Aquino would've wished she hadn't said much because what she was about to say as Ruffa's transfer to the rival network became the center of discussion and already a controversy per se, would sprout a newer controversy that will challenge Kris Aquino's character again and unfortunately, will question the capability of Noynoy Aquino, her brother and Philippine's 2010 presidential candidate, of becoming the country's rightful leader.

It all started when Ruffa Gutierrez's transfer from ABS-CBN's to another network (which was not actually named during the discussion) was raised after discussing the week's biggest controversies in the show's P.O.V segment. This is when Kris told Ruffa, "Aminin mo ibang level ang saya dito," which then became show business' hottest discussion about its different interpretations. It was caught on cam how Ruffa Gutierrez's facial expression changed after the statement has been said. Ruffa managed to answer, unable to hide from the look of her face that she was bugged, "Well, I know, you don't have to rub it in, Kris. Siyempre, I'm sad din, so sana huwag mo namang, you know, dagdagan (Of course, I’m also sad so you should not have, you know, added to it)." A few seconds before The Buzz went to commercial, Ruffa Gutierrez walked out from the platform and was reportedly to had resorted to the dressing room crying.

According to Gerry Plaza who wrote Yahoo's special for Southeast Asia for this controversy, Ruffa’s ever feisty mother Annabelle Rama suddenly appeared on “Showbiz Central.” As if it was on cue, Annabelle went on a rampage. As he quoted in his article:

Annabelle asked the whereabouts of Ruffa after her “walkout,” Annabelle said: “Pinapauwi ko na siya...dahil hindi ko na ma-take na every Sunday ay binabara siya lagi ni Kris, okay? Kaya lagi kami nag aaway ni Ruffa. Sabi ko, 'Bakit hindi ka lumalaban kay Kris? Sino ba siya? (I made her come home because I could not take that Kris always rebuffs her every Sunday. That’s why I always argue with Ruffa. I say, “Why don’t you fight back? Who is she anyway?)”

“Hindi maganda ginagawa ni Kris kay Ruffa, e. Hindi pa nga nananalo si Noynoy [Aquino, kapatid ni Kris] as presidente, e, ang yabang-yabang na niya! What more kung nanalo pa si Noynoy? E, di kawawa lahat ng artista, lalong-lalo na 'yong mga maliliit na nag-uumpisa pa lang. Hindi magtatagal. Si Ruffa every Sunday binabara niya. Ano, naiinggit ba siya kay Ruffa? (What Kris is doing to Ruffa is not good. Noynoy (Aquino, Kris’ brother) has not even won the presidency, she’s already so arrogant. What more if Noynoy wins? Pity our artists, especially those who are just starting in the industry. That won’t last long. She rebuffs Ruffa every Sunday. Is she envious of Ruffa?)"

Kris Aquino is known for her bubbly and talkative personality, which then attributed to her to be known as maarte by some. Kris is also known for her intelligence and that she always have something to say in every discussion, which at times may have over-shadowed Ruffa.

I also felt that what happened in Ruffa's last episode in the Buzz, was just Ruffa's low tolerance towards Kris until finally it went down to the critical level in that episode. It may have also been an ongoing irritability towards Kris which evidently may have contributed to how Annabelle kept on reminding Ruffa that she should no longer put up with Kris' treatment , which in reality have be non-existent as to what Annabelle believed and wanted Ruffa to believe.

I certainly can't find anything wrong about what Kris Aqunio said. What I can see is a friend who is trying to remind Ruffa that nonetheless, Ruffa should still remember how happy it is to be part of the show. I also feel that Ruffa does know better, and probably without her mother's bad-mouthing towards Kris, she would've not reacted that way. I can still see Ruffa's level-headedness in every discussion such as in that episode she did mention "Dahil siguro, with all the gulo, not super chikka chikka like before (Because maybe, after all the squabbles, chit-chats have grown limited unlike before), but everyone's civil to each other. Like I said, umiikot lang naman ang mundo sa show business. Today magkaaway kayo then tomorrow bestfriends kayo. (Like I said, the world in show business just goes in circle. Today you're enemies then tomorrow you're best of friends."

It's also not fair for both Kris and Noynoy that Noynoy's candidacy for presidency will be tested in the waters for a squabble totally out of the confines of politics and community service. It's a dirty game to drag other things into the mess, and that's what Annabelle showed if ever this is all a game. Being a mother that she is, she could've showed Ruffa a different kind of support, surely that will not mess things up and that will surely keep her daughter's intelligence as well. Ruffa's statement about being enemies then later best friends for the next day would've been achieved if her mother did not keep on influencing Ruffa about what to think about Kris.

In our daily lives, sometimes as viewers, we must have a deeper view of human psychology and sociology too, to draw ourselves away from poor judgment of a person or situation.

You can also choose who would you like to be; Kris Aquino, whose strong personality, both fragile and intelligent, attracts ambivalence; Ruffa Gutierrez, intelligent and beautiful in her own rite, yet vulnerable from her mother's negative perspective towards people and situation; or Annabelle, whose feisty character, which is superficially strong yet crumbled down in ignorance and dim-wittedness.

The Answer

Date Written : April 21, 2006
Being with this person is the most controversial part of my life. You may have already asked yourself, “How can somebody sell without any capital?” Well, let me get you straight to the answer. With a growing online market , people can sell just almost anything, and that probably leaves you wondering if that answered your first question already. As you already know, online sellers use pictures to showcase the products they are selling. Those are just pictures and you are not yet sure if those sellers really have those items on-hand even if they claim that they do, you will not really know. If it is possible to gatecrash an online store physically, will you be able to see those products in that store or you’re just going to see empty display cases? If you’re still not getting it, let me show you how to take advantage of other online sellers’ products to build your own online store. I hope you are now getting it.

This is where you become an affiliate. You don’t necessarily have to be an affiliate for a hardware or software developers’ website which is one of the biggest online market in the US. It’s not really popular in the Philippines because of the high-piracy rate. You can start with a market that is popular for Filipinos, budget friendly and less complicated. You may want to sell ready-to-wear items, electronic gadgets and beauty products.

The online market place in the Philippines that is growing even bigger is Multiply. It was used solely as a blog but the Filipino online community started using it to showcase products to sell. It started to grow through the years that Multiply added a new feature where you can be placed in the category of online sellers.

Things Needed

A separate blog for online-selling, preferably Multiply

A bank account where customers can deposit their payments

Globe G-Cash, where payments are made via your mobile phone

Steps

1. Register in www.multiply.com with a catchy username that will instantly shout that you’re an online seller. It is also important to concentrate on a certain product, not necessarily one product but products that are related to each other. Like if you want to sell Beauty Products, then name your multiply account as beautyzen101 or beautyallaround, or if you like to sell gadgets, then name it as gadgets101 or something a lot better of what I can come up with. Basically, something really catchy.

2. Second, you have to find a multiply theme that will best suit the products that you are selling. You can search within multiply for multiply accounts or groups that offer Beauty Themes for free. You can use ‘beauty themes’ or ‘beauty layouts’ as a keyword for that search. If you already have an advanced knowledge in making a theme for a blog, you can create your own theme to really make your store look legitimate to the online shoppers. This will give them an impression that you can be trusted, and not bogus.

3. Now, this is where the products come in. You have to look for a multiply group where you can look for products that you want to sell. If you want to have a big number of choices, you look for a multiply group that has the biggest number of members. You must know what kind of multiply group you’re looking for. You can use a keyword “Buy and Sell” to search for a group, and if you’re ready to join the group, make sure it’s for Filipinos, or else you will be selling or getting products from somebody in Thailand or Malaysia.

4. Once you’ve finally joined a group, you will be able to see the products that the online sellers added to the group’s photo albums. You will then have a clear idea of what you want to sell just by looking at those pictures. Once you’ve found the products you want to sell, it’s time for you to coordinate with the sellers that you want to buy their product but you need to find buyers first. Ask for their permission to use their pictures to sell their products on your site. They are most likely to agree because you are in fact helping them sell the products.

5. Once you’ve got their permission, you’re now ready to create albums for each product category that want to sell. Make sure that you complete all the details for that album, like the price, and other details like size, color, if applicable. You can use the same details that the original seller have on her album, but I suggest that you create your own description so that buyers will not be able to link you to the original seller. And before I forget, make sure you’re selling the original seller’s product in a higher price, or else you’re not getting anything from doing all of this.

6. It’s time for you to advertise your products. There are two ways that you can do that, add business contacts or join groups. If you add business contacts, you can add members of an already established online store, or you go to a group and add the people that joined in that group. It doesn’t matter if you add an individual or another online store. Adding a rival online store as your contact will actually help. It enables you to share that store’s resources and customers, and also, if that online seller is interested with a product you’re selling, then that seller will buy from you too.

7. Another way to advertise your product in Multiply is to do the same way that the original sellers of those products that you’re selling were doing. After all that was how you found out about their products. If you posts ads in a form of a note, blog, or photos in that Multiply group, all members in that group, which consists of hundreds or thousands will be able to receive an update about your posts. You also don’t have to worry that they will know that you’re just a re-seller, because they are most likely to get hundreds of updates everytime they check multiply. They will not be able to track who you’re connected with. You also don’t have to worry about them not being able to read your posts because of the hundreds of updates. If a hundred missed your updates, a hundred may have also just logged in Multiply on time to see your posts at the top of the list.

8. Once you got a buyer already, you don’t have to run your way to a freight/courier to ship the products to your buyer. What you need to do is communicate with the original seller about your orders and have that seller verify the availability of the items. Once the seller confirmed its availability, you can communicate back to your customer and have that customer settle her payments usually via Globe G-Cash or through a bank deposit. Once that customer paid already, you can then transfer your payment to the original seller’s account. Once the orders are ready to be shipped, you can ask the original seller to use your name as the shipper.
<p class="MsoListParagraphCxSpLast" style="margin-top:0in;margin-right:0in; margin-bottom:0in;margin-left:.75in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;mso-add-space:auto; I realized that my driving force into blogging and writing is when I fall in love. It doesn't mean I have fallen in love now or heartbroken why I was writing this, but this is one of the articles I would surely love to post for those who haven't read it. Funny, but when I browsed through all the posts I've had, they occured when I was in the brink of either heartache or love bug. I love to write a lot. I missed that side of myself where I am drowned with my own thoughts. It's a great feeling when I can internalize everything that has been happening.. You give yourself a reality check of why things are happening, why things turned out the way they had and what are the best actions to make them better or let them stay as they are...

I would like to be able to write again. Before I even got to who I seem I was in the pictures sprawled out all over my Facebook account (finally me in a group of people) I was really an introverted, homebuddy who are more atuned to being with myself and being in my own element. I missed that side of me although I will still continue to be this outgoing girl I learned to be, because I did learn that life is too beautiful to sulk in the corner.

QUOTE 01: "Dance like nobody's watching. Love like it's never gonna hurt."

REFLECTION: When you truly love, we don't deprive the other person only a portion of that love more than you are capable of giving him just because you have to save the rest of it for yourself. In my case, I can only be happy when I know I've given the best of my love to that person. I have cried before but that was my choice but whether I have cried or not, nonetheless, I have tested my limits and loved without bounds.

QUOTE 02: "Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for awhile but it will never go away."
REFLECTION: We shut our minds and rather believe in lies to avoid being hurt. But no matter what we do, we have to open our eyes and live with the truth. There's no better way but go on with our life with the reality ahead.

QUOTE 03: "Liking him was a chance but loving him and wanting to be with him forever is my choice."
REFELCTION: It can actually be similar to marriage. You don't marry a person because you love him. You marry because you want to commit yourself to the person you love. This explanation is shared to me by my Philosophy professor Mr. Rey Mancia. I agree with this otherwise I wouldn't share this.

QUOTE 04: "Each person who enters our lives has a unique lesson to teach us."

REFLECTION: We may never see some of those people whom we've spent a lot of times with in the past but the lessons they taught us will remain in us forever regardless of the fact that they might be the ones who hurt us.

QUOTE 05: "When someone breaks your heart it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But don't turn back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together."

REFLECTION: This quotation is also supported by QUOTE 01. Don't stop living because someone stopped loving you. He's not the only man in the world. There are a lot of potential mate out there. But don't expect yourself to understand it right here and then when you're still in the process of healing. It takes time. Take it from me.

MY SELF-MADE QUOTES:

"Even the wisest man is misunderstood. No matter how wise and careful we are with our actions, someone will always think of them differently."

"Don't settle for less when you can have more but don't settle for more when you rob those who have less."

Breaking a Rule in Finding Love

It has been always a fact that our mind and heart do not agree with each other. No matter how many times you dictate to yourself to choose and whichever won over, the failed faculty will seem to give you a reason to hold back. For a reason that I do not know, I follow the intuitive aspect of my self when my heart and mind could not decide.

It’s always like that with the things we work on in our daily lives. It's also the same in finding love. We work with our heads, work with our mind and work with our gut-feeling. Sometimes, the routine gets too depressing and overwhelming. We ended up feeling slumped in one corner watching our lives walk past us.

That is one reason I always put things into perspective. I always give it a thought, a minute, a second, it doesn’t matter as long as it has been thought of. I, then rationalize things. But once in my life, I learned that sometimes I have to break a rule of living up a rule. Sometimes going out of our comfort zone is the best way we can put things into perspective how ironic it may seem, and the outcome is just too basic. If breaking that rule to get to something or achieve something failed, you get to learn something out of it anyway and from there you will know that the formula is not right. It may not be the formula, but the timing and other factors that you have put to test.

It will work the same in breaking a rule in finding love. Let’s take for example when it comes to getting in a relationship with somebody. If you are the kind of person who had his/her heart broken a lot of times, you’ll be the kind to be skeptical in trusting and finding love in a what you think may be a potential partner. It’s different when the person is right there already but you know right then and there that he’s not you’re type, that you don’t even have to think about being with that person at all. Just by mere sound of it, you know it’s unimaginable. But when you come across somebody and that seeing that person for the first time, or talking to that person for the first time, you just can’t help but feel that he might be somebody you can get along with or somebody you will really like to know. If you had been wronged by a lover a lot of times in the past, you will then remind yourself how it still hurts and how afraid you are of falling back on your face again.

So that’s where we get into breaking the rule we have for ourselves, just for one time, if you’ve been having trouble seeing somebody you like until you meet another, with that vicious cycle, you can’t just seem to get over it, why don’t you just don’t think about it and let it go? Break the rule in finding love by getting this chance. Get your butt out and explore the possibilities. If it’s going to fail, then let it be. If you will not be happy in awhile with that spur-of-moment glimpse of romance, then take a step back make an honest exit. You’ll learn in the process that you’re still in pursuit of love, and even if you haven’t fallen in love at least you know, love is not just something that you can hurry and you can feel with just anybody. That alone will give you that feeling that you are still human. You have a heart but it’s not just something that you can give away to every guy/girl you meet in any place, in any time. Finding love is not something you can easily get that's why it's all worth the wait.

Just a warning, some way or another you are going to break a heart in the process in finding love, or your heart will be broken in the process. You will be tagged as a promiscuous bitch or a jilted ass, or you’ll be frustrated again. There will always be a consequence, that’s a fact. As long as you don’t see everything as a game, you’re clean. If it was a loss for you, as long as you don’t end up sour-graping, you’re clean and still didn’t lose your head.

Call Center Life : Develops Its Own Brand of Culture

Working in a call center is stressful job. A lot of people likes to get away from their work. Believe me, working in a call center makes me do too. But when it's about discussing the 'all-days-work' type of excitement we read in Reader's Digest that talks about the humor or hype in various jobs, my my call center job is a no-downer for that. I'll go away with the bloopers that we can disgracefully utter during a call. It's not about that. It's not the night lights that places us corporate zombies from different call centers on to the spotlight either, but it's everything we had become when these corporate giants engulfed us with their financial resources. We seemed to develop and exude that same vibrance seen in neon-lighted signages of establishments that brightened the corporate world at night in the call center industry.

Working as a call center agent places you in the category of people with odd working schedules and dynamic lifestyle. It also does not free you from being part of a different cultural hype known only to the call center that you are part of. For instance, call center agents from Convergys are known to be coños, which means that they converse in the local tongue mixed with English fluency. This way of speaking may have been developed because of the company's strict 'English only policy' within the company vicinity and within its proximity. Some may have second thoughts about this information since most outsiders think that most call center agents speak abundantly in English mixed with the local dialect. I may be able to, but it simply just wouldn't live on because the people I get to hang out with could not ignite the habit. It's just not the culture in the call center where I belong. There was an attempt for such policy but that was short-lived.

Anyway, I belong to a technical account for Dell Computers where technical geeks and enthusiasts with wide variety of hobbies in areas like photography, biking, backpacking, gaming etc, gathered. In this diversified call center job, we may succumb to an American accent, but if there's no American to converse with, our language may be just be as bad-ass of some 'kanto boys,' but of course, that's an overstatement. Some will not even admit that they can speak English good enough. It shows when a situation outside this call center job requires them to speak the language, like being introduced to an English-speaking tourist, they will jokingly say that they need to wear their headphones to be able to converse the same way that they do at work. English for some of them may be a curse to run away from, so when it comes to the kind of fun this group of call center agent is looking for during days off, these adrenaline junkies go for the extreme. We plan for sport outing like tennis, badminton, flag football etc. Last July 5, 2009 we trekked to Mantalungon and climbed Cebu's highest peak, the Osmeña Peak. Still not satisfied, we hiked 6 hours to the ravines and slopes going down to Kawasan Falls of Badian. Exactly the kind of fun that we need.

Enough with the late Indiania Jones wanna-be, let's get on with the Blair Waldorfs, the Gossip Girls prancing the corporate arena and the call center world. In a customer service account, agents' vanity may be super imposing for men and women alike. You may think you're in New York or Paris at times, when men wear scarves over leather jackets, and women wear leather gloves and super high cone heels. Fashion in some call centers and certain accounts are apparent. It's probably like being in high school once again in this kind of job. You're either in or out.

In a call center job, most of us sleep during the day, made these proponents of some studies think that these cultures were developed from high-caffeine and nicotine intake, high extra-marital affairs, high rate of FB's (think of the dirty version) and booty-calls? I'll drop the bomb. I made that up but they made sense. The bottomline is, the call center life and call center job made its own culture. A mixture of New York, Paris, Las Vegas, and the Malaysian jungle, then in between's of anything else you can think of.

YES2009 : How to win the trip to CHANGE to Malaysia

Here's how to win your free trip to YES2009. 500 FREE trips to YES2009 worth over 1,000,000 USD are up for grabs!

When you win a trip to YES2009, your flight, hotel, and summit pass worth USD2,500 will be paid for. class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FFFFFF;"> the Youth Engagement Summit (YES2009) is a platform to create a cadre of engaged, class="Apple-style-span" style="color:#FFFFFF;"> dedicated to making positive changes happen in their communities and in the world. The Youth Engagement Summit brings together youth's to create a community action plan addressing issues that are important to their communities and communities around Asia and the globe. Issues that are linked to global environmental change, conflict and poverty, and wildlife conservation.

They will explore solutions to important worldwide challenges from the impact of global warming to best practices in conflict prevention. They will lead the future Southeast Asia Youth Summits that bring together young people from across Asia who will meet for a series of workshops and youth-led discussions, and participate in forums with some of the world’s greatest scholars, political and civic leaders, policy makers, artists, musicians and thinkers. The first Southeast Asia Youth Engagement Summit (YES 2009) has already gathered some of the most inspiring figures in the world, bringing with them messages of how important it is for youth to help move change forward.

Together, these youth will not only take action but discuss what it will take to break down cultural and trans-national boundaries. By doing so, they will learn how to work together to make a difference and the importance of collaboration when it comes to solving the world’s greatest problems. These youth leaders are ‘agents of change’, able to influence his or her community as well as speak with authority and with confidence and passion. They are not afraid to challenge either accepted ways of thinking or their convictions. They are forward looking, they take their ideas and put them into practice. They accept difference, are flexible, are able to take on new ideas and skills and will communicate them to others.

The second goal is to awaken the interest and heighten awareness of all Asian youth – young people who are interested in change (but are not leadership oriented). YES 2009 is intended to engage them in critical and constructive discussions amongst their peers and with global change icons and respected personalities and motivate youth all over Asia to take a further step towards becoming active members of their community.

In doing so, we hope to engage and communicate with the following audience;

Active youth leaders;

Youth who want to be part of a movement for the better of their communities;

World leaders in business, government, entertainment, etc.;

The general public;

Media & Awareness

Today’s youth think critically and believe in a better and peaceful world. It’s just something I start to make sense out of from the book title that caught my attention from a book shop I stopped by in today. My boyfriend is probably raising his eyebrow right now and is wondering what the title is all about. Or girls who find themselves lost in the web of this so-called species from Mars (since women claimed to be from Venus) because of their relentless pursuit for male presence in every aspects of their everyday lives, can relate to the question “Are you my boyfriend?”

I’m not a serial dater nor am I promiscuous. In fact, I have never cheated. NEVER. But there had been a time that I was misunderstood because I’ve been going in and out of relationships thrice in a certain year, and people in my circle couldn’t track what had happened with the guys I dated that they thought things were sour as they appeared to be. Those moments are explained with the question “Are you my boyfriend?”

It’s like waking up one day and felt like you were dating a stranger. Like some nodes that connected you from a guy you were seeing broke apart and you couldn’t seem to figure out why he was calling you a name different from everyone else, like sweetheart, honey and those cheesy pet names you hear a woman across your lawn utters every week to different male visitors; like plumbers, electricians and onsite technicians she welcomes with her revealing night clothes during the day.

It’s like forcing mental images of a perfect marital bliss with that person but like a faded out bill inserted to a vending machine, it gets rejected by your own dream machine. That kind of feeling that something just isn’t right about the whole picture. The same thing like a bill, too much gray areas on the most important details of the currency or over imposed information to graffiti that you don’t want to deal with from the hands that scrounged it .

Going back to this book, the author does have a sense of humor in describing the different cuisine of men, like a menu sprawled in every page of the book. She even created an interesting introduction in the front page, “To you. You know who you are. Thanks for sharing and all those nice meals.”

Mr. Lady Lover Guy

He’s smooth. He says all the right things especially with his eyes. He likes to talk with you about you. You two have such a connection. When you’re naked in bed. In bed. That’s when he really opens up and shares. You even understand how he feels without him ever actually telling you. Because he really makes you feel special. Oh, how special. Until you show up at his house for a romantic suprise and see that he is making someone else feel very special too! He thinks everyone is special. Isn’t it special that he has to much love to give?

One With Nature Guy

He is nature. He knows everything about all sorts of flora and fauna. He eats the same things most animals eat in the woods. He’s so rugged. So groovy. So unshaven. You feel relaxed with him because he radiates Zen. Well, he did spend a lot of time in India. He teaches you yoga, which he’s been practicing since long before it was popular. But you know that Birkenstocks don’t go with everything, even though he thinks they do. And he can’t relate to pop culture because he refuses to won a TV (it manufactures consumerism). Besides, he doesn’t believe in needles modern conveniences – like banks, cars or deodorant. And that’s why he smells.

It’s Not You It’s Me Guy

He can’t commit to you (or to a relationship or to a job with a desk). He’s tried but he just can’t. But why not? You two get along so well when you don’t fight about how he can’t commit. And what he’s doing with all his precious time that he can’t spend any of it with you? But just as you’re hating him, he calls you for a date and you love him again! So what if it’s the last minute? That’s why he’s so exciting – he’s unavailable. But he does care about you. As a matter of fact, he thinks you two are friends. Friends who sleep together. And that makes you his best friend after all!

Living For Tonight Guy

He’s life of the party. He’s hip. He’s looking good. He can really hold his liquor. And all those little colored pills. He can go to work every day on two hours of sleep. So what if you have no idea what he’s really like since you only see him at parties, or clubs, or exclusive bars with no name outside. And then you can never really talk to him because his cell phone comes first. But he dresses great! And he knows everyone and the best places to go. How convenient. Now you can get right in just by dropping his name. He’s so cool! Too bad you won’t be able to stay friends with him after you hold an intervention and he blames you.

But He’s Got A Great Personality Guy

You want to be attracted to him. But you’re not. And that’s putting it mildly. He’s smart, interesting, and he thinks you’re wonderful. But you just can’t imagine him naked. Although you keep trying. And after a while, he just assumes you like really dark restaurants. You even drink extra at dinner and lecture yourself about beauty within. When your friends accidentally see you together, you flash them a look that screams “Please don’t think I’m with him!” And then you introduce him as your “FRIEND.” You feel so shallow. Why can’t you just get over it? But when he stops calling, you become jealous. After all, you were supposed to dump him. Now he’s attractive.

Couldn’t Be Nicer Guy

He’s attentive. He’s thoughtful. And he’ll do whatever you tell him to do. He’s so nice. So nice that he’s too nice. Your mother says, “But he’s so nice! Why don’t you like him?” You don’t know why. Maybe it’s because there’s no drama. Maybe it’s because he’s always there. Waiting. Even after you repeatedly told him about that “other” guy. But he never gets mad. He just wants to hold you. Nice….boring. You’d rather spend your time being ignored by someone you really like. But your mother likes him. Maybe your mother should date him.

Emotionally Present Artist Guy

He’s sensitive, perceptive, and he writes you beautiful poetry. But he sure can be moody! More moody than you are when you get your period. And he’s always broke. He’s taken a vow of poverty to be a real artist. But he’s never boring, even when he makes you take the bus because he doesn’t have a car. You don’t always understand what he’s talking about, though. But you feel like you should listen because you bet it’s really profound. Or maybe he’s just crazy. Or pretentiously in pain. But remember to keep those napkins he doodled on just in case he makes it big.

Are you Gay? Guy

You two relate like girlfriends. You have so much in common. And he has style. His wardrobe is better than yours. He even suggests things for you to wear! But as you spend time together, you sense that there’s just something about him. What is it? He says he’s not, but you wonder… is he gay? Is it that he can tell which men are physically good-looking when straight men claim they don’t have this ability? Is it that he owns a really small dog? Or that he loves Art Deco furniture? Or the fact that his pants are tight on you due to his slightly leaner build? Hmm, maybe he’s just European? Who knows. But he does notice when you get a haircut and compliments you.

Physically Active Sports Guy

His world revolves around sports. But he’s not a couch potato sports fan. His body is a machine! Naturally you feel the need to step up your exercise regime. Since whenever you see him, he’s already finished his workout and asks you about yours. Because he makes time for fitness. If he’s not sweating, he’s not happy. He does the Eco-Challenge vacation. Physical competition excites him. It’s so exciting that he thinks you should push yourself just as hard. This can be annoying when all you want to do is go for a walk. Or eat yourself into a bag of chips while watching reruns.

Some Young Fling Guy

He’s cute. He’s playful. He looks great in those jeans. And he can have a lot of sex. In every room. In ever position. But sometimes it’s like a boring deja vu when he talks about the things you already figured out years ago. And face it, you’re happy that time is over. And he’s not into intimate dinners. Instead, you get to join his large group of friends on their migration from bar to bar. It’s the only way he knows how to socialize. And he has to stay over at your place since he has three roommates, video games and only one towel. But at least he doesn’t have as much emotional baggage and annoying, defined habits – like your ex. How liberating!

There are actually a lot of guys the lady author seemed to have dated! And pretty interesting ones that you don’t come across with everyday. And there’s something about the author and sex. LOL. And the menu of men goes on I couldn’t write them all down. There were like a lot!

They also had me thinking of some guys I have come across with that puts off some little bit of wrinkles on my nose and they were not necessarily guys I have dated, but guys who put too much of their characteristics on the limelight that it was getting a pain in the eye.

shots taken from my Sony Ericsson K810i

<iframe align="left" frameborder="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=wordish-20&o=1&p=8&l=bpl&asins=0470250747&fc1=000000&IS2=1&lt1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="align: left;

Being a technical support representative for Dell, I hardly get calls about customers asking for their computer’s system specification or upgrade information. Almost all of the calls I get starts with “I have a problem with my computer…” or uniformly sounds like that which ever way the customer said it. It’s always about a system crashing, locking up, or anyway they will describe it. A customer who calls up and just laughs about it, I know, was just trying to calm his/her nerves or is naturally nice no matter how many times they have to sit for hours asking for assistance. All though we don’t also get that many screaming, cussing and swearing customers everyday, but fairly a large number are frustrated customers. I guess that will be the same for any technical support segments for any type of products and services.

In the technical support department of Dell especially in the company outsourced to the Philippines (that’s where I am), we were set with certain standards as the customer contact. Dell, a client, also set standards of service that the outsourcer shall pass, and that will in turn have the outsourcer (shareholders) need the agents to pass a higher standard than what the client had expected from the shareholders themselves. Metrics may change drastically depending on how it also changed from the higher office (Dell). The metrics may be handling time of the phone call (duration), resolution rate, customer satisfaction, quality assessment or anything that may come up to boost the service level and productivity.

Although, these metrics are good-naturedly created to uplift the quality of service that the technical support representatives will give to the customers, it may also wreak havoc to its entire purpose.

For instance, the handling time metric, is a given value of phone handling duration that is expected to be met by the support agents. This metric may cause a staggard and unfeeling sound of the entire conversation. It may also force some representatives to cut it short with their customers, either by not ending the call properly with a resolution or at worst disconnecting a call.

The quality assessment, can somehow delay in getting to the resolution of the customer’s computer issue or in assisting the customer. We have to verify the account, get the name, email address and telephone number of the customer. It would, at times, cause annoyance to the customer. Another part of this assessment is being within the scope of support. Scope of support will limit you to the segment where the system belongs to, be it in Small Medium Business, Corporate or Consumer, and some sub-segments as well. This will cause a lot of transfer rates and another frustrated and angry customer. For instance, an agent in Small Medium Business for Dimension support pulled up a service tag for Corporate segment but still a Dimension, may need to transfer the customer to the Corporate department, even though he/she would’ve been supporting same system. For a compliance to the quality assessment, the agent will have to transfer the customer and transferring the customer will help him/her in manipulating his/her average handling time.

The dispatch resolution rate, which is unique to the Dell account, is a metric that rates the resolution of the part replacement that were sent by an agent in a condition that no dispatches were sent in that same system within 7 days. That means, agents will be forced to be meticulously check if the logical troubleshooting to diagnose the issue has been performed. Some customers will have no time having to do the things they already did. Some customers will find most of the steps as redundant and pointless. Some of the customers felt like they were wasting their time.

I, for myself, gets in the dilemma of helping a customer sincerely as I can or performing in a way of what the shareholder (outsourcer) is expected of me. Sometimes, I felt like I wanted to go away from being crippled of quantifying every detail of being a good technical support agent in our shareholder’s view. Sometimes, I felt like I just wanted to help regardless of anything they have put the limits on.

Customers may seem stupid at times, but most of the time they have a point.

Customers, may seem illogical at times, but most of the time we were the ones who defied logic because of the rules we follow.

Customers may be impatient at times but I don’t believe they will be if service is prompt and efficient. I may put my Avaya phone on mute, and swear under my breath or out loud, how obnoxious, illogical, stupid, the customer was, but in the end, I came to feel that they didn’t deserve what they’ve gone through.

I also see the efforts that our shareholders and client are working on. I haven’t seen anybody in our shareholder’s team of managers that were sitting around doing nothing. The people I worked with were the most industrious people I’ve ever seen in my entire life and I’m proud to be their subordinate.

There really is no perfect formula in giving the best customer service. I’ve seen everybody’s efforts in working together to achieve the quality service that were expected of us, but don’t you think we might have overlooked one thing?

Do you think you can give better quality service if you’re not crippled with client and shareholder metrics?

Technorati Tags: customer service,technical support,shareholders,clients,good quality customer service,best customer service,hardware issues,handling time,resolution,resolve issue,computer issue

Windows 7 Ready for Purchase by October 22, 2009

Windows 7, the slick, fast, user-friendly successor to the much-maligned Windows Vista was offered as a public beta last January 9, 2009. I was one of the fortunate who got a hold of that free beta download. Although it only came to me as a copy from a co-worker, a couple of days after it was released for download, I heard positive feedback from those people who were able to download and use it in that same day it was released.

Windows 7 will offer better performance on underpowered machines such as netbooks, support for multi-touch interfaces, and simplified home networking.

Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer, said that this would be the "best version of Windows ever" and pointed out features that implicitly acknowledged the problems with Windows Vista.

Microsoft is also eager to get Windows 7 into people’s hands given the negative reaction to Windows Vista, which was widely panned. Released in 2007, Vista annoyed many customers with its hunger for computing resources and its seemingly incessant security notifications. Not only customers seemed to be bugged by what seemed to be a Vista bug but we in the Technical Support department as well. Being a Dell Technical Support at the onset when Vista was released, most of the calls I got ranged to raving customers wanting to return their systems back to Dell for the issues they got a little later after they reloaded their own applications in the new factory image. That had been a dragging time at work when you couldn’t seem to get a decent and friendly call because all you could get were irate customers.

Windows 7 has been widely anticipated since developers got the first glimpse of it at a Microsoft conference earlier this year. Microsoft promises that the new OS will have faster startup and shutdown times, fewer security alerts, and will provide better power management leading to improved battery life on laptops.

In addition, the OS will have an updated Taskbar, new animated desktop effects, context-sensitive menus and a smarter desktop search tool. And it will be svelte enough to run on a netbook with as little as 1GB of RAM and a 1GHz processor, Microsoft has promised.

I’m currently using Windows 7 RC (Release Candidate) that I got to borrow. But by October 22, 2009, Windows 7 will be available for everyone to enjoy. Excitement about the upcoming public release of Windows 7 has been growing for months and expectations are for a much quicker adoption rate than what we saw with the previous Windows version.

below is the screenshot of my current desktop while writing this blog. notice how an aero preview pops, that is when you hover your cursor to the pinned IE icon on the taskbar. That is just one feature from Windows 7 that I’d like to share to you all.

Learn About The Features

Improved taskbar and full-screen previews

The taskbar at the bottom of your screen is what you use to launch programs and switch between them when they're open. In Windows 7 you can pin any program to the taskbar so it’s always just a click away, and you can rearrange the icons on the taskbar just by clicking and dragging. We’ve made the icons considerably bigger, too, so they’re easier to use. Hover over the icons and you’ll see thumbnails of every file or window that open in that program, and if you hover over the thumbnail, you’ll see a full-screen preview of that window. Move the cursor off the thumbnail and the full-screen preview disappears.

Jump Lists

With Windows 7, we focused on keeping the things you use most right in front of you. One example: The new Jump List feature. It's a handy way to quickly reach the files you've been working with. To see the files you've used recently, just right click on the icon on your taskbar. So right-clicking on the Word icon will show your most recent Word documents. Plus, if there are other files you want to keep handy, you can just pin them to the Jump List so they’ll always appear. That way, the documents you’re likely to want are just a couple clicks away.

Some programs, such as Windows Media Player, can pre-populate their Jump Lists with common tasks. For example, on the Jump List for Windows Media Player, you’ll see options to Play All Music or resume your last playlist. On the Jump List for Internet Explorer, you’ll see frequently and recently viewed websites. With some programs, you’ll even have quick access to tasks that, in the past, were only available from within the program, such as composing a new e-mail message.

Desktop enhancements

Windows 7 simplifies how you work with the windows on your desktop. You'll have more intuitive ways to open, close, resize, and arrange them.

With Windows 7, it’s easier to do things you do all of the time. For example, before, when you wanted to compare two open windows, you had to manually resize your open windows to show them side by side. With Snaps, you can simply grab a window and pull it to either side edge of the screen to fill half the screen. Snap windows to both sides, and it’s easier than ever to compare those windows.

Another thing you may want to do is quickly see your gadgets or grab a file from your desktop. To see your desktop just move your mouse to the lower right corner of your desktop. That'll make all the open Windows transparent—so your desktop is immediately visible. Want to get all but one window out of your way? Grab the top of that window, shake it and all the other open windows will minimize to the taskbar. Shake the window again, and they’ll all come back.

Windows Search

Looking for something on your PC? What’s your first instinct? If you use the web a lot, you probably start by looking around for a search box. Now, you can find things on your computer the same way. Introduced with Windows Vista, Windows Search helps you find virtually anything on your PC quickly and easily. Windows 7 also makes search results more relevant and easier to understand.

Looking for a file, e-mail, or application? While you can easily look through folders and menus, there’s an even faster way. Just click on the Start button and you’ll see a search box at the bottom of the Start menu. Just enter a word or few letters in the name or file you want, and you’ll get an organized list of results.

Windows 7 uses libraries to show all content of a particular type in one spot. Say you’ve got photos in several locations on your PC. A lot will be in your Photos folder. But you might have some in documents folders too. Your photos library makes it easy for you to browse and use all your photos, no matter where they are on your PC.

By collecting things into a single view, libraries make it simpler to find what you’re looking for. They’re even more powerful with Windows Search. You can search your Libraries using filters to customize your search. For example, when you’re looking for music you can search by album. Or search for photos by the date they were taken. You can go to your Documents Library, click on authors, and see all the documents on your computer sorted by author name.

For more features please visit Microsoft

Love Crime : What Happens When Love Kills You?

You never felt so alone. You are confined with nothing but your thoughts. They do not even make you feel any better. Some happy thoughts from "what had been" twist into a funnel of emptiness. The painful ones calmly embed themselves on nothingness like faded and almost transparent photographs. Sometimes they swirl so fast in your head. A heavy mass of cloud, dark and ominous, makes exhaustion not a matter of choice. Sometimes a single memory plays slowly in your mind. It makes you recall of what you had felt with that person and thought about a life with that person. You could not distinctly separate happiness from pain. Remember how happy you had been makes everything so confusing like you have been inside a doodle of patterns, intricately tangled and curved in different directions that Fate itself could no longer retrace each step backwards. You feel like you have been played upon. Ruthlessly. Savagely.

You are a prisoner of this only companion you have which does not exist by breathing oxygen but exists through breathing in you emotions. It lives through your pain, fears, sadness, hopes and happiness. It persists through the complexity of what you feel. It takes the strongest control against you. In your lowest, your captor is the strongest. You are subjected to what you feel. You can not deny it. You guess there is no way out. The essence of your captor lies within you; which you think is something beyond your control.

That servitude does not do you any justice for it was you who had been wronged. It was you who had been oppressed. Love detached itself from you. “Am I cursed?” You start to ask that question. How would you know? It felt so good that it could have lasted until the end of time. But when it was gone, you find yourself locked in this stream of melancholic thoughts. Maybe, it is indeed a crime not to let go when something is shoved back on your face and not to accept what is ought to happen. It is indeed a crime to hold on. If that was wrong, you decide to let it be. You don't want to be right because holding on could be your bravest fight..

However, in this cell called Solitude, you are hoping Love would come back to bail you out. Someday you keep your hopes up, when Love is brave enough it will fight for you. You take a chance to wait for it. Your hope. Your happiness.

Did any of you felt like you’ve been killed by Love? Did any of you felt like Love will still be your After Life?

<div style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; Work is one of the things that reminds me that I still have a LIFE. Let me share how my work experience goes by.. It can be frustrating and FUN. Like FUNNY.

Well I just had this call today.. I’ve been really getting frustrated in the middle of the conversation with the customer asking assistance for his DVD drive not playing because we were not getting anywhere at all. I have some handling time to control so I couldn’t stay too long just looking up the records for his Dell service tag. So here’s how our conversation went

Me : Thank you for calling Dell. How may I help you today?
Customer : Aaron’s gave me this number to call. It’s about my DVD disc you know.
Me : Can you explain further? No matter how many times you dictate to yourself to choose your mind over your heart, and whichever won over, the failed faculty will seem to give you a reason to hold back. You start taking a step backward after getting a cold feet that what you might be deciding upon might be a wrong choice. Just like when you finally talk to a girl/guy you like for such a long time. Talking to him/her that night sent you to cloud 9, that you told yourself you definitely want to talk to her again. But then it dawned on you that he/she didn’t seem to show mutual feelings. You realized that night’s conversation with him/her may just be a casual thing for that person. You are afraid of uncertainty. Who wouldn’t right? You don’t really know that person and knowing that your interest on him/her is not enough for a happy ever ever after. That is one reason I always put things into perspective. I always give it a thought, a minute, a second, it doesn’t matter as long as it has been thought of. I, then rationalize things.

The cliche in dating are : to find true love take things slow; don’t fall for the wrong one; think about it; give it much thinking – sometimes have to be put to a stop. They are proven successful. They are already tested and have worked on some. But a lot lived in regrets and what could’ve been. And once in my life, I learned that sometimes I have to break a rule of living up a rule.

You realized that you made a rule for yourself to figure things out first before going for a home run. But remember that catching a fast pitch is going for victory, and delaying a home run is like accepting that in that arena you prefer to be a loser.

It’s always like that with the things we work on in our daily lives. We work with our heads, work with our minds and work with our gut-feelings. Sometimes, the routine gets too depressing and overwhelming. We ended up feeling slumped in one corner watching our lives walk past us.

Sometimes going out of our comfort zone is the best way we can put things into perspective how ironic it may seem, and the outcome is just too basic. If breaking that rule to get to something or achieve something has failed, you get to learn something out of it anyway and from there you will know that the formula is not right. It may not be the formula, but the circumstances and other factors that you have put to test.

Let’s take for example when it comes to getting in a relationship with somebody. If you are the kind of person who had his/her heart broken a lot of times, you’ll be the kind to be skeptical in trusting a what you think may be a potential partner. It’s different when the person is right there already but you know right then and there that he’s not you’re type, that you don’t even have to think about being with that person at all. Just by mere sound of it, you know it’s unimaginable. But when you come across somebody and seeing that person for the first time, or talking to that person for the first time, you just can’t help but feel that he might be somebody you can get along with or somebody you will really like to know.

Get your butt out and explore the possibilities. If it’s going to fail, then let it be. If you will not be happy in awhile with that spur-of-moment glimpse of romance, then take a step back make an honest exit. You’ll learn in the process that you’re still in pursuit of love, and even if you haven’t fallen in love at least you know, love is not just something that you can hurry and you can feel with just anybody. That alone will give you that feeling that you are still human. You have a heart but it’s not just something that you can give away to every guy/girl you meet in any place, in any time.

Just a warning, some way or another you are going to break a heart in the process, or your heart will be broken in the process.

You might want to check out an article from Matt “Guys - Take a Chance -- Be Confident -- Meet Her”

Another one I found at www.girlsteachguys.com is “Getting Out and Meeting Women” talks about overcoming the fear of rejection

This is also from a girl Vanae in www.girlsteachguys.com “8 Tips to Kick Shyness to the Curb”
